PROTECTION OF THE CABLES WITH TENSOFILL
Tensofill is a corrosion inhibitor compound applied to cable’s inner layers during the strand closing.
The filler prevents the entry and diffusion of moisture inside the cable and it gives additional protection to the galvanised wires.
The compound is made by SACI 500 (Severe Atmospheric Corrosion Inhibitor) and Zinc powder which combines the anticorrosive properties of Zinc to those of SACI 500.
The product permanently maintains it's waxy and flexible condition.
The quantity of zinc powder is optimised in order to obtain the best performance in corrosion resistance following extensive testing cycles.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
The Tensofill has the following properties:
  • Brookfield Viscosity (A4V 20 RPM): 10000 cps
  • Specific weight: 1.27 kg/dm3
  • Dry mass: 75 %
  • SACI 500 quantity on dry mass: 47 %
  • Zinc quantity on dry mass: 40 %
  • Resin quantity on dry mass: 13 %
  • Resistance to salt fog (ASTM B117): 500 hours
  • Resistance to humid state: 500 hours
PROTECTION OF THE CABLES WITH TENSOCOAT WAX-ALUMINIUM
Tensocoat Wax - Aluminium is a coating applied during and after the installation of the cables.
It’s a compound of aluminium micro-flakes and SACI 500 (Severe Atmosphere Corrosion Inhibitor) and Resin which combines the anticorrosive, waterproof and reflective properties of Aluminium micro-flakes to those of SACI 500.
The Tensocoat Wax – Aluminium is typically applied by brush after cleaning of the cable or of the part to be protected; the application can be executed during and after the installation and for maintenance.
The product has high flexibility and it is suitable to seal the outside interstices among the wires. The colour is light aluminium metallic grey.
The product can be removed for inspection, by cleaning with white spirit or other solvents and brush, and it can then be reapplied afterwards.
The product permanently maintains its waxy and flexible condition.

  • SACI 500 (on dry mass): 64 %
PROTECTION OF THE CABLES WITH TENSOCOAT WAX-TITANIUM
Tensocoat Wax - Titanium is a coating applied during and after the installation of the cables.
It’s a compound of Titanium dioxide and SACI 500 (Severe Atmosphere Corrosion Inhibitor) and Resin which combines the anticorrosive, waterproof and reflective properties of Titanium dioxide to those of SACI 500.
The Tensocoat Wax – Titanium is typically applied by brush after cleaning of the cable or of the part to be protected; the application can be executed during and after the installation and for maintenance.
The product has high flexibility and it is suitable to seal the outside interstices among the wires. The colour is matt white.
The product can be removed for inspection, by cleaning with white spirit or other solvents and brush, and it can be reapplied afterwards.
The product permanently maintains its waxy and flexible condition.

PROTECTION OF THE CABLES WITH HDPE (HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE)
HDPE (high density polyethylene) is an external sheathing that provides a further security in addition to the inner filling and the zinc-aluminium coating on the outer wires of the cables, assuring optimum durability of cables even in very aggressive environments.
HDPE protection is nowadays the most durable corrosion protection for stay cable bridges and other applications on civil engineering structures.
HDPE protection is applied by hot extrusion, as high density polyethylene sheath on the cable.
The sheething is designed to have the best UV stability against sun radiation and weathering resistance and it can be produced with outer finishing coloured as per client’s requirement.
Raw material suppliers selected by Redaelli are worldwide primary producers.

HDPE sheath on the cable maintains the capability of the cables to be coiled on a diameter of 30 times the diameter of the cable.
In order to protect the HDPE sheathed cable also at the connection to connection to the socket, the socket bottom part is designed so that it creates a watertight joint which seals the entrance of the cable.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
The HDPE has the following properties:
  • Elongation at break: 400% min, ISO 527
  • Yield Strength: 19 MPa min, ISO 527
  • Elongation at Yield: 8 % min, ISO 527
  • Density: 0.94÷0.96 g/cm3, ISO 1183
  • Excellent ESCR properties: 1000 h, ASTM D 1693.
